As a 30th Birthday gift for BigA and an early 29th Birthday gift for Good-time Slim, our Parents bought us a flight on Kenmore Airlines, the Seaplane Airline!!! The flight was a 20 minute flight around the Seattle area, known as the ‘Seattle Scenic Flight Tour’. We departed about 7:15pm on May 17th, 2014 from the Kenmore Airlines Seaport in Lake Union, with calm winds and a smooth lake to accompany our takeoff. The timing for the flight could not have been better! As you will see in the photos below, the sun was shining through the clouds, creating a beautiful skyline. We were unable to see Mount Rainer, but we could see parts of both the Olympics and the Cascade Mountains in the distance.
Our Airplane was a deHavilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver (Wikipedia Link), built in about 1955. It was a very nice airplane, with a very clean interior and exterior. Good-time Slim sat in the back and I sat in the right front passenger seat. We both had an excellent time and highly recommend the tour anyone interested in seeing an awesome view of Seattle.
